Funker Vogt - "Navigator"

It’s been 3 years since we last heard from Funker Vogt, and it’s certainly been worth the wait. With the release of “Navigator” Funker Vogt has again struck gold. With an epic musical landscape, this album features striking war themed lyrics and the catchy synth lines we’ve come to expect, but by no means does is this a cliché attempt to recreate the success of Maschine Zeit.
The title track, “Navigator,” is a highly charged dance anthem sure to entice even the most discriminating dancefloor junkie. Track two, “Fallen Angel” starts strong with harsh synths, crashing lyrics, and a refreshingly simplistic beat. “Stronghold” follows suit with hard hitting beats, and provides more melodic variety than the rest of the album.
“Navigator’s” only downfall is the occasional problem deciphering the lyrics through the vocal effects. Don’t let that be discouraging, as this album is sure to become a club classic. The energy never ceases, the music dead on, and the lyrics memorable.
Some fans may be put off a bit by the fact that this album doesn’t seem quite as “dark” as its predecessors, but with a sinister, and sometimes eerie presence, this albums is not easily forgettable. This one is definately a win for the dj’s and fans of all things Industrial or Ebm, and is easily comparable to better albums of E-kraft or SITD.
